Вы будете только на английский переводить или и на русский тоже?
#5 by Alva [II-subs] on July 5, 2009 - 12:31 am
Ещё не решено. Если русский перевод и будет, то чуть позже английского.
#6 by Anonymous on July 5, 2009 - 12:42 am
A Shinbo show? Don’t die on me. Good luck.
#7 by Anonymous on July 5, 2009 - 1:24 am
Вы уж лучше сразу напишите, что будет, а то по вашим же английским сабам куча народу начнет клепать свои варианты… :\
#8 by Alva [II-subs] on July 5, 2009 - 2:05 am
Завтра вечером ждите официального заявления на этот счет.
#9 by setsuna on July 5, 2009 - 6:45 am
can someone translated that? ^. . .
#10 by anon on July 5, 2009 - 10:10 am
2setsuna
they’re talking about russian subs for bakemonogatari. nvm
#11 by chapt5 on July 5, 2009 - 1:06 pm
“- Will you only translate it to english or to russian too?
– It’s not decided yet. But even if we choose to do a russian version, we’ll release it a bit later than english one.
– You better decide this earlier, if you don’t want poor double-translations of your english subs into russian to appear soon.
– We’ll release some kind of an official statement on this regard tomorrow.”
#12 by meinereiner on July 5, 2009 - 9:14 pm
Are you going to translate and typeset the onscreen text or only the dialogue?
#13 by Alva [II-subs] on July 5, 2009 - 9:16 pm
Traslating some of onscreen text is gonna be pain, sice Shaft is using ancient japanese style, kanji and some grammar, but we will try our best.
#14 by Perished on July 6, 2009 - 8:42 am
Wow! you guys already started it. I hope this serie has your taste so that u guys don’t drop it after the first one. Thanks so much guys.
#15 by whitewolf5 on July 6, 2009 - 9:27 am

#16 by SHΛÐØЩ ΛЅSΛSS!Ŋ on July 6, 2009 - 10:27 pm
hey guys I’m looking forward for your release
are you going to release it on MKV or AVI??
I hope I hear the answer soon
thank you any way ^,^
#17 by Alva [II-subs] on July 6, 2009 - 11:19 pm
We don’t know yet. Probably, both.
#18 by 2BMFans! on July 7, 2009 - 1:11 am
Please translate and typeset the onscreen text as much as possible! We’re too curios to know what the hell those damned writings say… 😀
Besides, an anime like this without the translation of the billion of signs and writings is quite mutilated, don’t you think? 🙁
After all speed is not a relevant issue… Slowpokes 4ever! Thank you very much! ^_^
#19 by meinereiner on July 7, 2009 - 2:20 am
Have you seen the amount of onscreen text? This being 1080p SHAFT can cram so much more of it on thh screen at once.
Someone on /a/ had an idea, how about doing a v1/v2 release where v1 has only the dialog translated and v2 the onscreen text whenever the translation for that is done?
Anyway thanks for your efforts and good luck.
#20 by Alva [II-subs] on July 7, 2009 - 3:29 am
We have already done script for entire text, including onscreen signs. We are going to translate every single kanji. I don’t really think its a good idea to release 2 versions.
#21 by 2BMFans! on July 7, 2009 - 4:01 am
Fully agreed with Alva! You’re the best, thank you very much for this huge work! ^_^
#22 by 2BMFans! on July 7, 2009 - 4:19 am
One more thing we forgot to say… We think the huge amount of onscreen writings and signs is a typical trait of a SHAFT work, so it’s right to translate them, even if they’re lots, because this way and only so this work could be correctly called “translated”, and “subbed”. Subs don’t include only the dialogues, but also every other stuff in the anime which is not usable to non-japanese viewers! ^^
And yes, we’ve seen how much they are, but we also know that also some other SHAFT works has almost the same amount of signs and/or writings. It’s their typical trait. And it makes them wondrous works, even if hard to sub. Hail to the II-subs, then! ^_^
#23 by Yivyn on July 7, 2009 - 6:40 am
How come BMG is taking so long to translate? I mean it doesn’t usually take a week to sub one episode? Will all the other eps take this long too?
#24 by Alva [II-subs] on July 7, 2009 - 6:45 am
There are loads of dialogs and on-screen signs in BMG, so this show is really translators/typesetters hell. And i don’t think that other episodes will be easier.
#25 by Anonymous on July 7, 2009 - 12:22 pm
Your highness, let me explain something… All this onscreen text was not supposed to be read in TV format, because time of its appearance is too small even for japanese (and even compared with SZS) – so, it’s more like a visual effect for TV format. Besides, if I’m not wrong some of this text contains hints (or even a spoilers) to the previous events (since both novel and anime started not from the beginning – Nisio Isin is usually using this trick in almost all his novels). So, translation of all this text in TV series is ruining both author’s and director’s ideas (viewers should be understand it only in DVD format when they’ve already known the whole story).
Though I don’t know how to express my gratitude for all those efforts in fansubbing BMG…
Cheers~
Олсо, форчан там —>
#26 by 2BMFans! on July 7, 2009 - 3:00 pm
Your highness? -_-
My dear, in SZS some writings last about 15 frames (and there are even more kanji than those). So what about the comparison you said? -_-
Visual effect for TV? Spoilers? But what are you saying, man? Have you even a little idea of which are you talking about? Those writings in the opening are considerable as a PROLOGUE for the anime series, how can you say they spoil the previous events despite the director’s and author’s will if the purpose of those writings is to let the viewers know about the previous events (who AREN’T going to be otherwise represented in the other episodes)? If you don’t want to read those writings because you don’t want nothing to be spoiled then DON’T READ THEM, but if the japanese viewers may have those writings onscreen why also the non-japanese fans shouldn’t see them translated in a fansubbed version? Your argument is silly and above all selfish. -_-
So think before writing and inform yourself better, THANKS, Your Highness.
#27 by 2BMFans! on July 7, 2009 - 3:12 pm
And oh well, the onscreen text doesn’t last more if translated. The duration is the same, so if you consider this “a visual effect”, then consider it also in the fansubbed version. But you’re opinion man, not ours’ nor others’.
#28 by Anonymous on July 7, 2009 - 8:36 pm
Just finish Sora Kake first please before moving on to Monstory.
#29 by Anonymous on July 7, 2009 - 8:45 pm
Man, I don’t think that you even got the idea… I just wanted to say that even japanese haven’t enough time to read those onscreen text (without pausing it, of course) except the names of the characters (and that was confirmed by my japanese friend). “Pause” is the main difference between TV and DVD, so it’s affecting on the anime’ appearance too… And so, director DIDN’T plan that it was read by viewers in the airing time.
From all your words I just understood that you don’t understand nothing, where “nothing” means “nothing at all”.
If you’ll say something about p2p or recording, that fact will be confirmed for sure…
P.S. And that joke was about your silly way of talking as “we”… Like I said, go back to 4chan, please.
#30 by 2BMFans! on July 7, 2009 - 9:26 pm
Same goes for you. If you just understood something, you would have understood that WE ARE TWO PEOPLE, not one. So the reason of the “we”. I quote you too: “From all your words I just understood that you don’t understand nothing”, and “Go back to 4chan”, thanks.
#31 by 2BMFans! on July 7, 2009 - 9:30 pm
It’s not important that for the viewing on the airing time it’s difficult to read the writings. We’re in a different field… Well you’re hopeless man, nothing more to say. No mediocrity in fansubbing is my ideal, and also if you don’t think the same, fortunately II-subs do. Rest assured in your mediocrity.
#32 by perimiter on July 7, 2009 - 11:13 pm
how about [il-gg] thats the best option any way i hope they will make it go out faster coz you guys are soooo slow >< any way your great keep up 🙂
#33 by fnord on July 8, 2009 - 2:27 am
[qIIq] is win.
Also, typesetting the signs is the way to go, no matter from what point you argue their presence in the show. Whether the viewer pauses to read every damn sign his business.
#34 by whitewolf5 on July 8, 2009 - 3:29 am
I do hope you guys won’t drop this project in the future. Looking forward to your releases. I hope they’re out by tomorrow ^^
#35 by eiennohito[II-subs] on July 8, 2009 - 7:09 am
oh, just pause won’t work.
Frame by frame navigation is required xD

Hey, just wanted to give you my support. I really appreciate you guys doing this. : )
#37 by SHΛÐØЩ ΛЅSΛSS!Ŋ on July 8, 2009 - 1:57 pm
Ok I’m still waiting for mkv version, Dont forget about me
and the name I think [qllq] sounds cool
#38 by fnord on July 8, 2009 - 9:43 pm
Yeah, I’ve seen the OP.
On the matter of the resolution: 720p should be easily possible I guess, but does the transport stream warrant 1080p? I’ve seen one of the 1080p raws that float around TT and although it looks upscaled I don’t know what other sources might be around that possibly air true-HD.
#39 by Souelle on July 9, 2009 - 1:45 am
Erm, completely unrelated to previous comments—
I’ve really been looking forward to this show, thanks so much for picking it up! Also, going through the trouble that is the onscreen notes/messages/kanji is really appreciated. 🙂
I don’t mind waiting a week or so for quality subs. :3
